Trisha Krishnan has found herself back in the spotlight as discussions around her personal life continue to trend online. The renewed attention comes amid ongoing speculation linking her name to actor and TVK chief Thalapathy Vijay following their recent appearance together at a celebration in Chennai.
The moment quickly went viral on social media and revived long standing rumours about their bond. At the same time, reports claiming that Vijay’s wife Sangeetha Sornalingam has initiated divorce proceedings have further fuelled public curiosity. The alleged petition reportedly mentioned an adulterous relationship with an actress, though neither Vijay nor Trisha has publicly commented on the matter.
As conversations continue online, an old interview of Trisha from 2016 has resurfaced, where the actor spoke candidly about her thoughts on marriage. Speaking with IndiaGlitz at the time, she explained that she takes the idea of marriage very seriously and would never treat it casually.
She said back then marriage is not a decision she would make lightly.
“I want to feel whether this is the person I can live with for the rest of my life because I don’t believe in divorce. I don’t want to go in for a divorce when I get married and I’m someone who will,” she had said.
Trisha further added that she would take her time before committing to marriage.
“I do not believe in divorce. I will always think 100 times before marriage. I don’t want to end up hurting someone else or living an unhappy life.”

During the same conversation, the actor also reflected on how many relationships around her seemed unhappy despite being marriages. She explained that love and companionship mattered more to her than simply tying the knot.
“I know tons of married couples around me who are in it for all the wrong reasons. They are and unhappy. I do not want to be in such a marriage where people are unhappy. I desperately want to fall in love. Marriage is secondary, but I definitely want to meet my companion that I’m very particular about.”
Trisha had previously been engaged to businessman Varun Manian in 2015. However, the engagement was eventually called off. In another interview with Onmanorama, the actor revealed that the relationship ended when her partner wanted her to quit acting.
“So the wedding ended because my partner wanted me to quit performing. Faced with that choice, I walked away from the relationship rather than the screen. Pregnancy might pause things later; nothing else will. If acting opportunities shift toward supporting parts, then I’ll take roles matching how people see me yet staying within cinema remains certain. Acting until life ends that stays the goal,” she stated.
Over the years, Trisha has remained one of the most respected actors in South cinema, known for balancing commercial success with a strong sense of independence. As speculation continues to swirl around her name, the resurfaced interview has once again highlighted the actor’s clear stance on relationships and personal choices.
For now, neither Trisha nor Vijay has addressed the rumours directly, leaving fans and observers closely watching how the conversation unfolds.
