Vijay loses cool at rally, stops security from pushing elderly man.

At a crowded event in Puducherry, Vijay was seen reacting sharply after a guard pushed an elderly attendee.

Ahead of the Assembly elections in Puducherry, Vijay attended a high-energy rally that drew a massive crowd eager to catch a glimpse of him. While greeting supporters from atop his vehicle amid tight security, an unexpected moment from the roadshow quickly went viral online.

As the streets filled with people and security personnel worked to manage the crowd, an elderly man approached Vijay’s vehicle while waving at him. In an attempt to control the situation, a security guard pushed the man aside, which immediately caught Vijay’s attention. The actor-politician appeared visibly upset and reacted sharply, pointing at the guard and expressing his anger. However, he soon regained his composure and continued acknowledging the crowd, waving at his supporters.

Later, while addressing the rally, Vijay spoke about his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), contesting in Puducherry for the first time. He emphasised his vision for the region and promised to push for full statehood if his party comes to power. Criticising existing alliances, he said, “There are 2 alliances in Puducherry… In Tamil Nadu, DMK-Congress is a confused alliance. Similarly, here too it continues to be a confused alliance. Similarly, there is an NR Congress-BJP alliance. It is not a united alliance. It is a tired alliance. Why hasn’t this alliance granted statehood to Puducherry? If we come to power, we will do our best to secure statehood.”

He further added that voting for the current alliances would not bring progress and stressed the need for better governance. Vijay also expressed confidence in his party’s growth, stating that TVK aims to establish its rule not only in Tamil Nadu but also in Puducherry.

During his campaign, Vijay also made several promises, including building a drug-free and self-reliant Tamil Nadu, ensuring timely government exams, and providing monthly financial assistance of ₹4,000 to graduates and ₹2,000 to diploma holders.
