Truth Behind Viral Pictures of Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Rama and Sita

Viral pictures showing Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi as Rama and Sita from Ramayana spread online, but they were edited…

The upcoming film Ramayana has already generated massive buzz even before its release. The ambitious mythological epic stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is being planned as a two-part saga and is widely considered one of the biggest projects in Indian cinema.

Recently, several images began circulating rapidly on social media claiming to show Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi dressed as Lord Rama and Sita. In the viral pictures, the actors appear in elaborate mythological costumes, complete with crowns, jewellery, and royal attire. The visuals looked so convincing that many fans believed they were leaked stills from the film’s sets.

The photos quickly gained traction online, with users sharing them widely and praising how the actors looked in their mythological avatars. Many fans commented that the visuals appeared magical and expressed excitement about the film if the final look turned out to be similar.

However, it was later revealed that the images were not authentic stills from the movie. The pictures had actually been digitally edited. In some cases, the actors’ faces were placed over scenes from an older television adaptation of the Ramayana, which made the visuals appear surprisingly realistic.

Once the truth surfaced, it became clear that the pictures were not official promotional material from the film. The makers of Ramayana have not yet released the complete official looks of Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi in their respective roles.

Despite the confusion, the viral images have only increased curiosity around the project. With its massive scale, star-studded cast, and epic storytelling, Ramayana remains one of the most anticipated films in the coming years. The first part of the film is expected to release during the Diwali 2026 season, while the second installment is planned for the following year.

Until the makers unveil the official visuals, fans will have to wait to see the true on-screen transformation of the actors in this grand mythological epic.
