The new reality show The 50 has already created a lot of buzz online after a heated argument involving YouTuber Sagar Thakur, also known as Maxtern, and Elvish Yadav’s close friends. The show premiered on February 1 and features popular YouTubers, actors and reality TV stars living together under one roof while competing in tasks to avoid elimination.
During a recent task, Maxtern openly spoke about his past fight with Elvish Yadav. In a video clip that quickly went viral, Maxtern accused Elvish of using negative publicity tactics and playing the “sympathy card.” He also claimed that Elvish avoids direct confrontations and depends on his friends to fight battles for him. Maxtern went on to warn that if he ever comes face-to-face with Elvish, he would slap him. He also made strong remarks, calling Elvish “India’s sabse bada gawar,” which sparked massive reactions on social media.
Things escalated soon after Maxtern returned to the house. Elvish Yadav’s friend and content creator Archit Kaushik confronted Maxtern and allegedly pushed and slapped him, causing Maxtern to fall on the ground. Other friends of Elvish, including Lovekesh Kataria and Lakshya Choudhary, were also seen warning Maxtern not to speak about Elvish inside the house.
The incident has brought back memories of the 2024 controversy between Maxtern and Elvish Yadav. Last year, a video allegedly showed Elvish assaulting Maxtern with a group of friends, following which an FIR was registered. Elvish later claimed that Maxtern had threatened him and his parents. The matter was eventually called a “misunderstanding,” and both sides settled the issue with the help of Rajat Dalal.
Meanwhile, The 50 has already seen three eliminations — Vanshaj Singh, Saurabh Ghadge and stand-up comedian Sumaira Shaikh. The show currently has 47 contestants competing for survival and is streaming on JioHotstar and Colors TV.
