Sunny Leone Supports Mouni Roy After Harassment Incident, Says “It’s Not Okay”

After Mouni Roy spoke about facing harassment during a public performance, Sunny Leone has extended her support and praised her…

After actor Mouni Roy recently spoke about being harassed during a public performance, she found strong support from fellow actor Sunny Leone. Sunny, who frequently performs at large public events, said she was proud of Mouni for speaking up and taking a stand.

Mouni Roy had opened up about feeling uncomfortable during a stage show where some members of the audience behaved inappropriately. Her statement started an important conversation about how artistes are often treated during live performances.

Reacting to this, Sunny said she may not have faced the exact same situation, but she understands how such experiences can feel. She shared that sometimes audiences get too close or cross boundaries, and that is not acceptable. “I am glad she spoke up. I am proud of her for saying that it’s not okay, because it’s really not,” Sunny said.

Sunny also mentioned that similar incidents have happened with artistes in the United States, where performers have strongly reacted against such behaviour. She believes that calling out harassment is necessary to bring change.

Talking about her own performances, Sunny explained that she usually does not notice what is happening around her while she is on stage. She said she stays focused on her performance, which usually lasts only seven to eight minutes. “I go on stage, perform, and then I am out. I don’t pay attention to what’s happening around,” she shared.

The actor recently performed in Hyderabad on New Year’s Eve in front of nearly 12,000 people. She described the atmosphere as “pure madness” because of the huge crowd and loud energy. Despite that, she said the audience must always respect the artiste.

Sunny will next be seen in Kennedy, directed by Anurag Kashyap, opposite Rahul Bhat. Meanwhile, one of her New Year performances in Mathura was cancelled after protests, with some people claiming it would affect the city’s image.

This incident once again highlights an important issue artistes deserve safety and respect, no matter where they perform. Speaking up against harassment is not just brave, but necessary. When public figures like Mouni Roy raise their voice and others like Sunny Leone support them, it helps create awareness and encourages change.
