Rumours about a possible relationship between Malaika Arora and Sorab Bedi recently took over social media after pictures and videos of the two enjoying a party together went viral. The speculation began when Sorab known for appearing on Splitsvilla X6 shared glimpses from a celebration at Malaika’s restaurant in Mumbai.
As the buzz grew online, Sorab has now addressed the rumours and clarified that there is nothing romantic between them.
Speaking to Times Now Sorab explained that his connection with Malaika goes back several years through mutual friends. He revealed that he first met her at a party through television personalities Delnaz Daruwala and Vahbiz Mehta who were among the people who supported him during his modelling days.
According to Sorab the meeting gradually turned into a friendly bond as they often attended the same social gatherings. “Delnaz and Vahbiz gave me the chance to walk the ramp during my modelling days. Through them I started going to parties and that’s where I met Malaika. She is also very close to them so we eventually became friends. There is nothing between us” he said.
Sorab also expressed disappointment over the way people interpreted the viral photos and videos. He pointed out that he has known Malaika for a long time and has attended parties with her and their mutual friends before as well. However, those moments never attracted attention earlier.

He said the sudden speculation happened because he is now more recognised. In the past, he had shared pictures with Malaika too, but they did not draw much notice at the time. “Now people know me, so it’s getting attention. Two people can simply be friends. But people are saying many things and taking it in a different way,” he added.
Sorab also urged social media users to be more careful while making assumptions especially when it comes to personal relationships. He said such speculation can affect a person’s mental well being and should not be taken lightly.
The rumours started after Sorab posted photos from a party held at Malaika’s restaurant in Juhu. In one picture, the two posed together while another short video showed them dancing during the celebration. Sorab congratulated Malaika in the caption of the post, though the post was later deleted.
The viral visuals quickly sparked dating rumours online, with many users wondering if the two had started seeing each other.
Malaika has often been in the spotlight for her personal life. She was earlier married to actor Arbaaz Khan for nearly two decades before the couple separated and officially divorced in 2017. They share a son Arhaan Khan.
Following the divorce Malaika began dating actor Arjun Kapoor in 2016. The two were in a relationship for several years before reports recently suggested that they had gone their separate ways.
Meanwhile Sorab was previously linked to fellow Splitsvilla contestant Niharika Tiwari.
For now, Sorab’s clarification makes it clear that the viral party moments were simply a glimpse of friends enjoying a night out rather than a sign of a new relationship
