When asked if being part of a big film family has influenced how the industry treats her, Sobhita was honest and calm in her response. She said that it has only been a year since her marriage and her entire career so far has been built through her own efforts. She explained that all her work has come from her independent journey and she does not yet feel any major change in industry dynamics because of her marriage.
Sobhita also mentioned that she does not look at her in-laws as part of the film industry. For her, they are simply family. At home, she sees them as relatives, not as powerful industry figures. She added that maybe in the future she might understand things differently, but for now, her personal life and professional life remain very separate.
Talking about her journey in films, Sobhita reflected on how she started with auditions and projects that were often different from mainstream cinema. She described her choices as “counterculture” and said that because of this, she has always relied on herself rather than seeking support from others. Even now, she believes in trusting her own instincts and decision-making.
After moving her base to Hyderabad post marriage, Sobhita feels she has gained more clarity about the kind of roles she wants to do. She shared that she is no longer interested in trying to fit into spaces she does not connect with. Instead, she wants to play strong female characters, women who take decisions, have agency, and matter to the story. Whether these characters are liked or disliked does not matter to her, as long as they have depth and purpose.
Overall, Sobhita Dhulipala’s thoughts show that marriage has not changed her core values. She continues to focus on meaningful work, personal growth, and staying true to herself, proving that independence and self-belief still guide her journey.
