Actor-producer Vidnyan Mane has made explosive claims about what allegedly led to the calling off of cricketer Smriti Mandhana’s wedding with singer-composer Palaash Muchhal. Days after the wedding was reportedly cancelled, Mane claimed that Muchhal cheated on Mandhana and was caught with another woman.
According to reports, Mane, who describes himself as a childhood friend of Mandhana, alleged that Palaash Muchhal was caught “red-handed” with another woman during the wedding celebrations on November 23, 2025. Speaking to Hindustan Times, Mane claimed,
“I was at the wedding celebrations when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Bhayanak scene tha, he was beaten up by the Indian female cricketers.”
He further alleged that the incident led to chaos within the families and ultimately resulted in the wedding being called off. Mane added strong remarks against Muchhal’s family, saying,
“The entire family is chindi chor. I thought he’d get married and settle in Sangli, but it has completely backfired on me.”
Apart from the cheating allegations, Mane also accused Palaash Muchhal of financial fraud. In the same interview, he claimed that Muchhal cheated him out of ₹40 lakh in connection with an unreleased film. According to Mane, a complaint has been filed in Sangli, Maharashtra, regarding the matter. He stated,
“When I met his mother (Amita Muchhal) last month, she said the budget to release the movie has now increased to ₹1.5 crore. They asked me to invest another ₹10 lakh or I wouldn’t get any money back. They started blackmailing me and threatened to throw me out of the film, thus I was forced to file a complaint.”
Mane also alleged that after the wedding was called off, he was blocked by the family and later discovered that other artistes associated with the film had not received their dues. He said, “I had heard of directors fleecing producers in the film industry but this is complete theft.”
However, it is important to note that Live Mint reported it could not independently verify Mane’s claims. Meanwhile, Palaash Muchhal has strongly denied all allegations. Responding via his Instagram Stories, Muchhal stated,
“In light of the allegations made by Sangli-based Vidnyan Mane on social media, I wish to state that these claims against me are entirely baseless and factually incorrect. They have been made with malicious intent to tarnish my reputation, and they will not go unchallenged. My lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, is exploring all legal avenues, and this matter will be dealt with strictly through the appropriate legal channels.”
As of now, Smriti Mandhana has not issued any statement regarding the allegations. With contrasting claims and legal action underway, the controversy remains unresolved.
