Smriti Mandhana’s Mom Roasts Palash Muchhal After Her Daughter Wins WPL; Internet Calls Her Savage Aunty

Smriti Mandhana's WPL heroics were followed by unexpected internet drama when her mother reshared a meme linked to Palash Muchhal,…

Smriti Mandhana once again proved why she is one of the biggest stars in Indian women’s cricket. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain led her team to their second consecutive Women’s Premier League (WPL) title after a stunning win against Delhi Capitals earlier this week. Smriti played a match-winning knock in the final and was named Player of the Match for her brilliant 87 runs.

However, it wasn’t just her performance that grabbed attention online. Soon after the final a meme started going viral that jokingly linked Smriti’s aggressive batting to her past relationship with singer Palash Muchhal. The meme suggested that she was hitting the ball as if she saw her ex in every bowler.

What surprised everyone was that Smriti’s mother, Smita Mandhana reposted the meme on her Instagram story. Social media users were quick to notice it, and screenshots of the repost spread rapidly across platforms. Many users called her a “savage aunty” and praised her sense of humour. Some even wondered if the repost was accidental.

Comments like “She cooked without saying a word” and “Savage aunty for the win” flooded social media. However, by the next morning, the repost had been removed, though by then it had already gone viral.

Smriti’s WPL win also felt special because it came after a tough personal phase. Last year, her wedding with Palash Muchhal was called off just hours before the ceremony. While there were reports about the reason behind the breakup, neither Smriti nor Palash has spoken publicly about it.

On the cricket front, Smriti continues to shine. It was later revealed that she played the WPL final despite suffering from a high fever, making her performance even more inspiring. With back-to-back WPL titles, Smriti Mandhana has once again shown her strength both on and off the field.
