Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is once again at the centre of an online debate after a video from his recent airport appearance went viral. The actor was spotted returning to Mumbai after New Year celebrations with wife Gauri Khan, Suhana Khan and son Abram Khan, when an emotional moment involving a young fan caught everyone’s attention.
As Shah Rukh walked towards his car amid tight security, a kid was heard shouting repeatedly, claiming he had been waiting for three hours just to get one picture.
In the viral clip, the child can be heard saying, “Uncle, 3 ghante se wait kar raha hoon, ek picture de do.” Despite the plea, Shah Rukh did not stop and continued walking, visibly focused on making a quick exit.

The moment instantly sparked mixed reactions online. While some fans defended the actor, citing exhaustion, security concerns, and personal boundaries, others found humour in how the situation unfolded. Social media was soon flooded with comments like, “Uncle bola na, ab 3 saal wait kar,” turning the moment into a meme fest.

A section of netizens also questioned the outrage, pointing out that Shah Rukh Khan is now 60 years old. “If not uncle, then what should he be addressed as?” many asked, arguing that the term was not meant as disrespect but came from innocence.
Others, however, felt that calling a superstar “uncle” may not sit well, especially in a culture where celebrities are often idolised and addressed with reverence.
This isn’t the first time a celebrity’s interaction with fans has gone viral and triggered polarised opinions. While Shah Rukh Khan is widely known for his warmth towards fans, moments like these also highlight the constant scrutiny public figures face, even during personal family time.
As the debate continues, one thing is certain: even the smallest interactions involving the King of Bollywood are enough to set the internet buzzing.
