The Malayalam film industry is grieving the sudden loss of veteran actor Santosh K Nair, who passed away on Tuesday morning after a tragic road accident in Adoor, Kerala. The actor was immediately rushed to a private hospital following the collision, but reportedly suffered a heart attack and could not be saved.

Santosh’s wife, who was travelling with him at the time of the accident, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment. The incident has sent shockwaves across the industry, with fans and colleagues expressing their sorrow over the untimely loss.

Known for his strong screen presence, Santosh K Nair earned recognition for portraying a wide range of characters, especially memorable villainous and comic roles. He began his acting journey in 1982 with Ithu Aarti Katha and went on to appear in over 100 films. In addition to his film work, he was also a familiar face on television, further expanding his reach among audiences.

Beyond his professional achievements, Santosh shared a personal connection with superstar Mohanlal. The two studied at MG College, where Santosh pursued a degree in Mathematics while Mohanlal studied Commerce. In past interviews, Santosh had fondly spoken about their college days, recalling how their academic paths briefly diverged before he returned to complete his studies.

His final appearance on screen was in Bharathanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam, directed by Krishnadas Murali. With his passing, the industry has lost a versatile performer whose contributions will be remembered for years to come.
