Former Bollywood and television actress Sana Khan has once again addressed the long-standing rumours around her decision to quit the entertainment industry. In a candid conversation on a chat show with actress Rashami Desai, Sana firmly dismissed claims that her husband, Mufti Anas Sayed, “brainwashed” her into leaving showbiz or adopting a more religious lifestyle.

Sana, who was once a popular face in films and reality television, made it clear that her transformation was a personal journey driven by introspection and a search for peace. Reacting to online speculation, she stated that no one can force such a life-changing decision on another person. According to her, the idea of being “brainwashed” undermines personal agency and the emotional clarity that led her to walk away from fame.

During the interview, Sana explained that her inner transformation began much before marriage. She shared that she was already undergoing significant emotional and spiritual changes, which eventually shaped her decision to step away from the industry. Fame, money, and recognition, she said, no longer brought her the fulfilment she was seeking.

The former actress also spoke about her wedding, calling it intentionally “top secret.” She revealed that only her parents were aware of the wedding plans before the nikah took place. Even people involved in the preparations, including her mehendi artist, were not informed about the groom’s identity. Sana said the secrecy was a conscious choice to preserve the sanctity and simplicity of the moment.

Adding another detail that surprised many, Sana shared that apart from her own mehendi expenses, her husband and his family took care of most of the wedding arrangements, including the nikah, stay, and reception. She pointed out that this went against the assumptions often made about her marriage and life choices.

Sana emphasised that while her husband has been supportive, every major decision she took was her own. She acknowledged that quitting the industry was not easy, but it brought her a sense of peace and purpose that she values deeply today.
