Richa Chadha Shares First Glimpse of Baby Girl, Opens Up About Motherhood & Industry Struggles

Richa Chadha has shared the first glimpse of her baby girl while opening up about the emotional, physical, and professional…

Richa Chadha recently gave fans a heartwarming first glimpse of her baby girl and accompanied it with a deeply honest reflection on the last few years of her life. After welcoming her daughter with husband Ali Fazal and taking nearly two years away from work, Richa has now opened up about the emotional, physical, and professional hurdles she faced during this phase.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, the actress shared that returning to work after childbirth was far more challenging than she had anticipated. Richa admitted that both her body and mind needed time to heal, and easing back into her career has been a slow but meaningful journey.

Alongside the tender pictures of her daughter, Richa also addressed the darker side of the entertainment industry. She criticised the negativity and unethical behaviour she has encountered, stating that many people operate from a place of insecurity and scarcity. She likened such individuals to “dementors” — draining joy and energy from others’ lives. While she said she has forgiven those who wronged her, she made it clear that she has not forgotten the experiences.

Richa further reflected on the importance of a strong support system for new mothers. Writing that “it takes a village to raise a child,” she added that it also takes immense support for a woman to rediscover herself after becoming a parent. Motherhood, she shared, profoundly altered her sense of identity, priorities, and purpose.

The actress also critiqued the pressure placed on public figures — especially mothers — to constantly share personal moments online for the sake of content. She pointed out that vulnerability is often commodified on social media, which can dilute the authenticity of deeply personal experiences.

Richa Chadha was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar on Netflix. As she slowly returns to acting, she has already signed new film projects, marking a fresh chapter in both her personal and professional life.
