Rani Mukerji Says Daughter Adira Could Be Yash Chopra’s Reincarnation; Here’s Why She Believes So

Rani Mukerji has shared a heartfelt and intriguing belief about her daughter Adira, saying she sometimes feels the little one…

Rani Mukerji has offered fans a rare and touching glimpse into her personal life, sharing a heartfelt view on her daughter Adira Chopra that has stirred emotions across the film fraternity. During a recent conversation with longtime friend and filmmaker Karan Johar to mark her 30 years in the industry, Rani spoke candidly about family, creativity, and the enduring legacy of her late father-in-law, legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra.

Describing Adira’s personality and creative nature, Rani said that there are moments when she feels her daughter might be the reincarnation of Yash Chopra — one of Bollywood’s most revered storytellers. She shared that Adira’s creative instincts, writing ability, and storytelling flair remind her so much of Yash Chopra that it sometimes seems as if his spirit lives on in her granddaughter.

“She is truly Yash Chopra’s granddaughter,” Rani said, adding that Adira’s natural talent and imaginative storytelling reflect qualities she associates with the late filmmaker. “Sometimes I honestly feel she might be Yash Chopra’s reincarnation,” the actress remarked during the candid chat.

Rani elaborated that Adira inherits her creative strengths from both sides of her family — not only from her grandfather but also from her father, filmmaker Aditya Chopra. She described Adira as talented, imaginative, and expressive — attributes that have endeared her deeply to her parents and close friends alike.

The actress also shared some delightful moments from the conversation, including an emotional letter Adira wrote to her, which was read aloud by Karan Johar, leaving Rani visibly moved. The letter described Rani in affectionate terms, celebrating her warmth and inner beauty.

While Rani and Aditya have traditionally kept Adira out of the public eye, choosing a private, low-profile upbringing for their daughter, Rani’s recent comments reveal the depth of her admiration for Adira’s personality and potential. In the past, she has emphasized that for her daughter, recognition should come through merit and personal achievement, not just family ties.

Rani and Aditya married in April 2014 in a private ceremony with only a handful of guests, and welcomed Adira in December 2015, choosing to shield her early life from the glare of the media. As Rani gears up for the release of Mardaani 3, she continues to balance her professional commitments with motherhood — finding pride and joy in watching her daughter grow while honouring the cinematic legacy that surrounds her family.
