Actor Rahul Dev has candidly spoken about one of the toughest phases of his life — losing his wife Rina Dev and stepping away from the entertainment industry for several years. In a recent interview, the actor shared that when he finally returned to Mumbai after nearly four to five years, finding work again became extremely difficult.
Rahul revealed that after his wife’s death in 2009, his focus completely shifted to raising his son Siddharth as a single parent. During that period, he distanced himself from films and the glamour world. Reflecting on his comeback struggle, the actor admitted that despite doing over 80 films, it felt like “the industry forgot” him.
The actor also recalled how emotionally exhausting that time was for him. Speaking about the days following his wife’s passing, Rahul had earlier shared, “Lagta tha industry mein kar kya raha hu main,” while describing the confusion and emotional numbness he experienced back then. Rahul further mentioned that reality shows like Bigg Boss later helped him reconnect with audiences and revive his career.
Over the years, he gradually rebuilt his professional life through films, television and OTT projects. The actor, who is currently in a long-term relationship with Mugdha Godse, has often spoken about learning to move forward after personal tragedy. Rahul also credited his son and close family members for helping him regain strength during the difficult years.
