Prime Video has officially kicked off 2026 with the announcement of its latest Telugu Original movie, Cheekatilo, an edge-of-the-seat crime suspense drama starring Sobhita Dhulipala in the lead role. The film is set to premiere worldwide on January 23, streaming across India and more than 240 countries and territories.

Directed by Sharan Kopishetty and produced by D. Suresh Babu under the banner of Suresh Productions Pvt. Ltd., Cheekatilo is written by Chandra Pemmaraju and Sharan Kopishetty. The film brings a gritty, contemporary narrative rooted in realism, placing the often-unseen world of crime investigation through modern media under the spotlight.

Set in the bustling city of Hyderabad, Cheekatilo follows the journey of Sandhya, a true-crime podcaster whose life takes a dark turn after the mysterious death of her intern. What begins as a search for answers soon spirals into a chilling investigation exposing brutal crimes, hidden truths, and a deeply disturbing underbelly of the city. The film blends suspense with emotional depth, exploring themes of justice, resilience, and sisterhood.

Joining Sobhita Dhulipala is Viswadev Rachakonda in a key role, along with an ensemble cast featuring Chaitanya Visalakshmi, Esha Chawla, Jhansi, Aamani, and Vadlamani Srinivas, all of whom add layered performances to the intense narrative.

Speaking about the project, Prime Video India emphasized its focus on expanding South Indian originals with bold, culturally rooted stories that resonate beyond language barriers. Producer D.
