Actor Celina Jaitly received a major relief after the Delhi High Court allowed a UAE-based legal firm to represent her brother, Major (retd.) Vikrant Jaitly, who has been detained in Dubai for over 18 months. The court’s order has brought renewed hope to the actor and her family, who have been fighting a long legal battle.

Celina shared the update on her Instagram account, expressing gratitude to the Delhi High Court and her legal team. She revealed that the court permitted the appointment of Al Maree Partners, a UAE-based law firm, to represent her brother in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The firm has agreed to take up the case free of cost.

In her emotional note, Celina wrote that the High Court stepped in to “restore a soldier’s right.” She added that after months of effort, she was finally able to secure legal representation for her brother, who has been held in the UAE since September 2024. Thanking the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and her lawyers, Celina said she believes her brother will return home soon.

Actor Preity Zinta also showed her support in the comments section. She wrote, “All the best babe. So happy things are moving in the right direction. Stay strong and don’t lose faith,” along with red heart emojis. Celina replied warmly, saying she loved Preity “to the moon and back.”

According to a report by news agency ANI, the Delhi High Court directed the MEA to issue a formal order allowing the UAE-based firm to represent Major (retd.) Vikrant Jaitly. The law firm was suggested by Celina’s counsel, Raghav Kacker, with the support of Advocates Madhav Agrawal and Suradhish Vats. The lawyers informed the court that the firm had already studied the case and was ready to help on a pro bono basis.

Celina’s petition stated that her brother was illegally abducted and detained in the UAE and that the authorities had failed to provide clear information about his condition or legal status for over a year. The latest court order is being seen as a positive step forward in the case.
