Actor Ayushmann Khurrana recently made a candid confession about his relationship with wife Tahira Kashyap, revealing that he once broke up with her shortly after winning MTV Roadies. The actor admitted that early fame had changed his behaviour and jokingly described himself as a “deep red flag” during that phase of life.

During a recent promotional interaction for Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, Ayushmann recalled how success at a young age affected him emotionally. Speaking about the incident, he said, “I was 20 at that time… I had just won Roadies, but in my head, I was the most popular guy in Chandigarh.” He added, “I broke up with her for a while to focus on myself. I was like, ‘I don’t have time for relationships. I have to invest time in myself.’”

The actor further admitted that the attention he started receiving after becoming popular contributed to his decision. “It is very difficult to deal with fame when you are 16-17,” Ayushmann shared, adding that he was suddenly getting attention from other girls and wanted to “live” his life.

However, the breakup did not last very long. Ayushmann revealed that after six months, he realised his mistake and went back to Tahira. Recalling the moment, he joked, “F*** boy nahi ban sakta main.” The couple eventually got married in 2008 and are now parents to two children.

Ayushmann also humorously reflected on personal growth, saying, “Men have this deep tendency of starting off as a huge red flag and then suddenly becoming a green flag by the time they are in their mid-30s.”
