A funny and unexpected moment from actors Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra, and Prithviraj Sukumaran has taken social media by storm. The trio was promoting their upcoming film Varanasi when an old interview clip resurfaced, leaving fans laughing and turning it into fresh meme material.
The interview was originally given to Collider during the first glimpse launch of Varanasi in Hyderabad last year. However, it has now gone viral thanks to the playful banter between Priyanka and Mahesh.
During the interview, the actors were asked which film changed them the most as actors and as people. Mahesh Babu mentioned that he has been acting for over two decades, to which Priyanka quickly reminded him that he actually started acting at the age of four.
When Mahesh tried to say that Varanasi changed him, Priyanka jokingly stopped him and asked him not to “cheat” and name a film from earlier in his career.
The fun didn’t stop there. Mahesh then said, “Every film changes you, to be honest,” and Priyanka softly muttered, “Oh my god,” under her breath. Mahesh instantly noticed it and asked her what she meant. A slightly embarrassed Priyanka replied that she didn’t realise she had said it out loud and was actually thinking about her own answer.
The light moment clearly broke the ice, as Mahesh later revealed that his 2006 blockbuster Pokiri was the film that truly changed his life.
As soon as the clip hit social media, fans flooded X (formerly Twitter) and YouTube with reactions. Many called it “instant meme material,” while one fan joked, “Bob to PC be like: ori deeni eshalu,” referencing Mahesh Babu’s popular dialogue from Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.Several fans loved seeing Mahesh in such a relaxed and fun mood. “Mahesh Babu being himself after a long time feels so refreshing,” wrote one user. Another added, “The chemistry between Priyanka and Mahesh is so natural.”Directed by SS Rajamouli, Varanasi is one of the most awaited films and is set to release in theatres on April 7, 2027. Until then, this interview moment has surely given fans something to smile about.
