The sequel to the movie Nayak has been announced after almost twenty-five years from the date of the release. The character which the audience loved the most will again be presented by Anil Kapoor in Nayak 2, this time with a character who was very powerful and still is in today’s world.

The co-production of the sequel by Deepak Mukut, the producer who is also going to be the co-producer with Anil Kapoor, demonstrates his very close involvement in the resurrection of the story. The political drama of 2001 not only kept the audience engaged with its story but also forced them to think about the topics of leadership, corruption, and the impact of giving even the least powerful person in the world a good character very boldly. Nayak, over the years, has gradually regained its lost appeal through TV re-runs, internet clips, and cult status among the audience. The producers of Nayak 2 are planning to not only continue that legacy but also take on the political and social issues of today. No information regarding the plot, director, or additional cast has been released but the very announcement has already rekindled the memories and interests of the fans.

Nayak 2 will definitely be a great help to society as the topics of accountability and good governance are still very much alive. The film will cover the same themes as the original one but will do so from a modern standpoint, thereby allowing the audience to meet a character they have never really forgotten.

It will be also interesting to see if Rani Mukerji joins Anil Kapoor in the sequel or not?
