Munawar Faruqui has entered a beautiful new phase in his personal life. The comedian-actor and his wife Mehzabeen Faruqui have welcomed their first child together — a baby girl.
On Friday, Munawar shared the happy news with fans through a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a series of pictures from the hospital. While the couple chose to keep both Mehzabeen and the newborn’s faces private, the emotional moments in the photos quickly won hearts online.
Sharing the pictures, Munawar wrote, “Ghar barkat aayi. Blessed … dua mai khas yaad rakhe.”
One image showed Munawar lovingly holding his wife’s hand while she rested on the hospital bed, with their newborn visible in the background. Another captured Mehzabeen holding her baby close moments after delivery, dressed in a hospital gown with medical equipment surrounding her. The intimate glimpses reflected the couple’s happiness as they embraced parenthood together.
Soon after the announcement, several celebrities poured in wishes for the family. Farah Khan commented, “Arre wah! Blessings for your little angel.” Varun Dhawan wrote, “Congratulations bhai.” Singer-composer Vishal Dadlani also congratulated the couple, along with stars like Guneet Monga, Gauahar Khan and Sonali Bendre.
Munawar married Mehzabeen Coatwala in 2024 in a private ceremony. The couple has largely kept their relationship away from the spotlight. Earlier, while appearing on Farah Khan’s vlog, Munawar had spoken about how his son Mikael played a major role in his decision to remarry.
Reflecting on that phase, he shared how emotional he felt when Mikael, who had been staying with his sister, hugged him tightly before leaving after spending a week together. Munawar realised then that he wanted his son to stay close to him and began thinking seriously about building a stable family life. He also revealed that Mehzabeen’s personal situation was similar, as she has a daughter from her previous marriage.
Munawar was previously married to Jasmine, with whom he shares son Mikael. Following their divorce, he received sole custody of his son.
