The trailer of Mardaani 3 is finally out, and it hits hard emotionally, thematically, and cinematically. With this powerful threequel, Rani Mukerji doesn’t just return as the fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy, she also begins the celebration of an extraordinary milestone: 30 years of an iconic career in Indian cinema.
Calling the release deeply personal, Rani shared,
“To have Mardaani 3 releasing on my 30th year is a sign for me to keep working, doing good work!”
Few actors have shaped mainstream Hindi cinema the way Rani Mukerji has. Over three decades, she has consistently broken stereotypes, portraying women with agency, strength, vulnerability, and dignity. Long before “female-led” became a trend, Rani was already redefining what a leading lady could be.
Mardaani stands as a landmark in that journey. It is India’s only successful female-led cop franchise, and notably, the only female-led theatrical franchise in the history of Indian cinema to sustain critical acclaim and box-office success. With Mardaani 3, the franchise grows darker, sharper, and more unflinching — reflecting both the evolving world and the actress who anchors it.

The trailer hints at a more brutal narrative, raising the stakes for Shivani Shivaji Roy as she confronts crime with uncompromising resolve. There is no glamour, no distraction — just raw intensity, moral courage, and a woman who refuses to look away. It is a reminder of why Rani’s portrayal of this character has become so culturally significant.
Ahead of the release, Rani penned a heartfelt note reflecting on her journey — from a young actor entering the industry to becoming one of its most respected voices. Her words underline gratitude, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to meaningful cinema, making Mardaani 3 feel not just like a film release, but a statement.
As Rani Mukerji steps into her 30th year in the industry, Mardaani 3 arrives as both a celebration and a promise — that stories led by strong women still matter, and that some voices only grow more powerful with time.
