Yash Raj Films has turned up the heat ahead of the release of Mardaani 3 by dropping a hard-hitting new track titled ‘Babbar Sherni’, reminding audiences exactly why Rani Mukerji remains one of the most formidable female leads in Indian cinema.

Set to release in cinemas on January 30, 2026, Mardaani 3 sees Rani return as the fearless cop Shivani Shivaji Roy, this time taking on a brutal and deeply disturbing social crime. The third chapter of the franchise raises the stakes as Shivani races against time to rescue 93 missing girls, making it one of the most intense missions of her career.

The newly released track Babbar Sherni perfectly complements this urgency and grit. Composed, produced, and arranged by Sarthak Kalyani, with lyrics by Shruti Shukla and a striking rap segment by Dee MC, the song amplifies Shivani’s commanding presence while celebrating women as unstoppable forces of strength and resilience.

Speaking about the song, Rani Mukerji shared that Babbar Sherni is a powerful reflection of the soul of Mardaani. She described it as raw, resolute, and unflinching—mirroring Shivani Shivaji Roy’s fearless pursuit of justice. According to the actress, the track goes beyond being a promotional number and serves as an emotional and ideological extension of the character, honouring women who refuse to back down in the face of adversity.

Directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, Mardaani 3 continues the franchise’s legacy of socially relevant storytelling. While the first film exposed the horrors of human trafficking and Mardaani 2 explored the psyche of a serial rapist, the third instalment tackles yet another dark and pressing reality of society.

With Mardaani, Yash Raj Films has created India’s only successful female-led cop franchise, and Mardaani 3 promises to further cement that legacy. If Babbar Sherni is any indication, Shivani Shivaji Roy is ready to roar louder than ever.
