Malaika Arora has once again spoken honestly about relationships, personal growth, and family conversations. Over the years, the actor has often faced public attention over her personal life, but she says she has learned to accept that life and relationships are constantly changing.
Speaking to Times Entertainment, Malaika shared that she still believes in love but no longer sees relationships through the lens of “forever” the way films and books often portray them.
“I think relationships are ever-changing. And I’m not a cynic. I am somebody who is… I believe in all of it, but I also feel there’s no guarantee. I mean, we’ve grown up with the idea of forever and ever, walking into the sunset. We’ve all grown up with that idea because that’s the kind of movies we’ve watched and the books we’ve read. But I feel that’s not it. That’s not it,” she said.
She added that life keeps evolving and people eventually learn to adapt to different situations rather than expecting everything to remain constant forever.
During the conversation, Malaika also revealed a surprising chat with her son Arhaan Khan. She shared that Arhaan clearly told her he has no plans to marry or become a father.
Recalling the moment, she said, “He told me, ‘Mom, I’m not gonna get married, no? So please forget the fact that you’re gonna have grandkids.’ And I was like, ‘Why?’ He’s like, ‘Why would I want to bring kids into this world with the AQI at 500 and AQI at 1000? Why would I want to do that?’ He says, ‘It’s just not worth it.’”
Malaika admitted she was shocked by his thinking and told him that life’s experiences, including family and parenthood, are important.
The actor also recently spoke about the importance of self-love, saying that loving herself is something she reminds herself of every single day. According to her, self-acceptance is necessary to truly enjoy life and become a better version of oneself.
Malaika Arora was married to Arbaaz Khan in 1998 after the two met during a coffee advertisement shoot. The couple separated in 2017 and continue to co-parent their son Arhaan. On the work front, Malaika was recently seen in the song “Poison Baby” from Thamma.
