There’s something undeniably charming about watching two seasoned actors look back at their journey together. On the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show season 4, Madhuri Dixit and Jackie Shroff did just that. They revisited old memories, sharing laughs and surprising everyone with a few heartfelt confessions.

The highlight of the episode was when Jackie Shroff candidly admitted that he used to feel shy while performing romantic scenes with Madhuri Dixit.

During the conversation with Kapil Sharma, the atmosphere was light and nostalgic. Madhuri began by recalling her first meeting with Jackie on the sets of Karma. At the time she was still new in the industry and had a small role in the film, a song appearance. She remembered spotting Jackie, know as “Jaggu Dada” sitting in a corner with Anil Kapoor, watching her perform. As a newcomer, she felt nervous knowing two established actors were observing her.

Jackie added his own memory to the story. He revealed that he had first heard about Madhuri from legendary choreographer Saroj Khan who had strongly recommended her to filmmaker Subhash Ghai.

But what really caught everyone’s attention was Jackie’s honest admission about feeling shy while romancing Madhuri onscreen. When Kapil asked if any actor had ever been nervous around her, Jackie didn’t hesitate to raise his hand as a YES.

I used to feel shy while doing romantic scenes with Madhuri, he said with complete sincerity. He explained that certain emotions feel deeply personal and private making it difficult to simply “project” them in front of cameras and a crew. Looking into her eyes during emotional or romantic scenes wasn’t easy for him. When she speaks, it’s very hard to look into her eyes, he confessed praising her expressive presence and the way she immerses herself into a role.

Madhuri in return spoke warmly about Jackie. She described him as “innocent” and “Down To Earth” adding that there’s a certain purity in his personality. The mutual respect between the two was clearly visible throughout the episode.

Over the years Madhuri and Jackie have shared screen space in several film, playing everything from romantic partners to family members including an unusual dynamic in Sangeet, where she played his mother-in-law. Their last film together was Devdas marking the end of an era of fans who enjoyed their pairing.

What made this conversation special wasn’t just the nostalgia but, the honesty. In an industry often associated with glamour and confidence Jackie Shroff’s shy confession reminded viewers that even the biggest stars can feel nervous especially when working opposite someone as Madhuri Dixit.
