Actor Hansika Motwani has spoken candidly about her emotional journey following her divorce from Sohael Khaturiya, revealing how therapy and family support helped her navigate a difficult period.
The actor, who was granted a divorce by mutual consent in March, shared that she went through a “dark phase” and leaned heavily on her loved ones. Speaking about her bond with her brother, she said, “My brother and I are very close. He supported me throughout; he was rock solid. Both my mother and brother told me, ‘If you are not comfortable, don’t go through it.’ They have seen me in a very dark space. I am usually a very happy person, so for them to see me like that was alarming. They told me, whatever you decide, we are with you.”
Hansika also opened up about seeking professional help, revealing that therapy played a major role in her healing process. “I was in a very dark space and didn’t understand mental health. A friend picked me up during my dark phase and said let’s try therapy. After that, it’s been two years and it has helped me, guided me, showed me how to be a better person. Taught me how to handle situations that I didn’t know how to,” she shared, adding that it helped her manage anxiety as well.
The couple had tied the knot in 2022 in Jaipur, with their wedding documented in a reality show. While their separation drew attention, Hansika has chosen to keep the reasons private. On the work front, she will next be seen in the series Gully.
