Actor Hansika Motwani has shared her first social media post following her divorce from businessman Sohael Khaturiya. The actor posted a brief yet powerful message on her Instagram Stories choosing to focus on positivity in the days after the couple’s separation was legally finalised.
Hansika and Sohael were granted a divorce on March 11 after nearly three years of marriage. Reports suggest that the couple filed for separation by mutual consent. Soon after the proceedings were completed, Hansika took to social media and wrote “Chardi Kala always.”

The Punjabi phrase refers to maintaining a spirit of optimism, strength and resilience even during challenging moments. While Hansika did not explicitly mention the divorce in her post, many followers viewed the message as a reflection of her mindset as she moves forward in life. As of now neither Hansika nor Sohael has spoken publicly about the reasons behind their separation.
Hansika and Sohael tied the knot on December 4, 2022 in a lavish ceremony held at Mundota Fort in Jaipur. Their wedding drew significant attention online, with photos and videos from the celebrations widely shared by fans.
Before their wedding, Sohael had proposed to Hansika at the Eiffel Tower in Paris in November 2022. The actor later posted pictures from the proposal on Instagram with the caption, “Now and forever,” making their relationship official.
Speculation about trouble in their marriage first surfaced in 2025 when Hansika quietly removed several wedding photos and pictures featuring Sohael from her social media accounts. Reports later claimed that the couple had been living separately since July 2024.

According to Hansika’s lawyer Adnan Shaikh, the divorce was filed by mutual consent and the actor chose not to seek alimony or maintenance. In a statement to NDTV, he said that Hansika’s intention was to bring a peaceful and dignified end to the marriage and move forward with her personal and professional life.
The divorce plea reportedly stated that the couple realised early in the marriage that they had significant differences in temperament, opinions and lifestyle. Despite efforts from family members and friends to encourage reconciliation, the differences eventually led them to part ways.
On the work front, Hansika was last seen in the 2024 film Guardian directed by Sabari and Guru Saravanan. The film also featured Suresh Chandra Menon and Sriman in key roles and received mixed responses from audiences.
