Farah Khan has sent waves of excitement through the film industry with news about her upcoming project. In a fresh update shared during her popular YouTube vlog, Farah revealed that she plans to return to filmmaking by the end of this year, but there’s a heartfelt condition. She says she will only begin work on her next film if it’s with superstar Shah Rukh Khan.
Farah, known for helming some of Bollywood’s most memorable films, including Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, has been focusing on her YouTube channel in recent years. Her candid, humorous posts have won her a new legion of followers online. But fans have long hoped she would return to the director’s chair — and now it seems that wish might finally come true.
During her visit to actor Nakuul Mehta’s home in Mumbai, a casual conversation turned into a major announcement. Farah told viewers that her children heading off to college made her feel it was the right time to restart her film career. She shared there’s even a “Wapas Aao Farah Khan” (Come Back, Farah Khan) petition trending among fans urging her to come back to movies.
Addressing questions about her future plans, Farah said that if she decides to direct again, it will be only with Shah Rukh Khan. In her trademark witty style, she added that if that doesn’t happen soon, she’ll just keep enjoying vlogging on YouTube.

Farah and Shah Rukh’s collaboration is one of Bollywood’s most beloved director-actor partnerships. Their films, Main Hoon Na, Om Shanti Om and Happy New Year, have all been major commercial successes and are fondly remembered by audiences.
Farah’s last directorial outing was Happy New Year in 2014, also starring Shah Rukh. Since then, she stepped away from film direction and embraced digital content creation, a shift that has kept her connected with fans in a new way.
Shah Rukh Khan, one of India’s biggest movie stars, continues to remain in high demand. After his comeback with Jawan and Pathaan, he’s in the spotlight with several upcoming films lined up, including King, directed by Siddharth Anand.
