Ranveer Singh‘s movie Dhurandhar really took off in a way that caught a lot of people by surprise. It started as this intense spy thriller and just kept building, ending up way beyond what anyone expected. Instead of the usual big opening weekend and then a quick drop off, it stayed strong week after week. Audiences kept showing up, which pushed its total earnings past some huge films like Jawan and Pushpa 2, even RRR and Baahubali 2.

That consistency is what stands out to me. I mean, for a Hindi film to become the highest grossing one in India, thats not something that happens every day. It feels like word of mouth really carried it, not just the initial buzz. Trade people were talking about how it held up on weekdays too, even after the first couple weeks. Globally, it made over 1400 crore, putting it right up there with the biggest Indian movies ever.

Now that theaters are done with it, its heading to Netflix for streaming. People can watch it at home, either again or for the first time. And theres more coming, since they announced Dhurandhar 2 already. Its set for theaters later this year, riding on all this success.

The whole thing has left a mark, from full houses to breaking records. It seems kind of rare for a film to do that without feeling forced or hyped too much. Some might say its just luck, but I think the story and performance kept pulling people in. Anyway, its one of those that changes how you look at what is possible in Indian cinema.
