As excitement builds for the upcoming sequel Dhurandhar The Revenge, Jio Studios and B62 Studios are bringing the original Dhurandhar back to cinemas in a rare global re-release.
The blockbuster spy-action film will return to theatres across approximately 500 screens worldwide, including 250 screens in India from March 12 and 250 overseas starting March 13. The move comes just days before the release of the much-awaited sequel Dhurandhar The Revenge, which is set to hit theatres globally on March 19, 2026.
For fans of the franchise, the re-release provides a unique chance to revisit the film that helped redefine the spy-action genre, while also building anticipation for the next chapter. International re-releases of Hindi films remain uncommon, making this large-scale return to theatres a notable moment for the franchise.
In North America, the film will be screened across nearly 185 theatres, reflecting strong demand for the sequel. Adding to the buzz, Dhurandhar The Revenge will host special Wednesday premiere shows in the USA and Canada on March 18, a day before its worldwide release.
These premieres will largely take place on Premium Large Format (PLF) screens, featuring wall-to-wall displays, immersive sound systems like Dolby Atmos, enhanced projection and luxury seating — formats typically reserved for major global event films.
The recently released trailer of Dhurandhar The Revenge has already generated significant buzz across international markets, with trade analysts and exhibitors expecting a strong global run. By bringing the first instalment back to cinemas just days before the sequel arrives, the makers aim to let audiences experience the saga’s two chapters back-to-back on the big screen.
Presented by Jio Studios and produced by B62 Studios, Dhurandhar The Revenge is written, directed and produced by Aditya Dhar, and co-produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar.
The high-octane spy-action thriller will release worldwide on March 19, 2026, in five languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The film will arrive in theatres on the festive occasion of Gudi Padwa and Ugadi, just ahead of Eid.
