The launch of Ghar Kab Aaoge, the emotional new song from Border 2, turned deeply personal when Sunny Deol addressed the gathering in Jaisalmer. Still coping with the loss of his father, veteran actor Dharmendra, Sunny spoke straight from the heart, leaving many visibly emotional.
Interacting with fans, Sunny began by calling himself a part of their family ever since Border became a part of India’s collective memory. He recalled how watching his father’s classic Haqeeqat at a young age planted the seed that eventually led him to Border. “Main bohot chhota tha jab papa ki Haqeeqat dekhi thi. Tabhi maine soch liya tha ki ek din main bhi aisi film karunga,” he shared.

Opening up further, Sunny revealed how that childhood inspiration turned into reality when he later collaborated with filmmaker J P Dutta. “Jab actor bana, tab maine decide kiya ki papa jaise ek film karni hai. J P Dutta saab se baat hui aur humne milkar yeh faisla liya,” he said, adding that the subject of Border and now Border 2 has always been close to his heart because of its honesty and emotional depth.
At one point, Sunny candidly admitted, “Mera dimaag hila hua hai,” a raw confession that reflected both his grief and the overwhelming emotions attached to the song Ghar Kab Aaoge. The track, which questions when soldiers will return home, clearly struck a personal chord with the actor, given his recent loss.
The moment underlined why Border 2 is being seen as more than just a sequel. With its strong emotional core, rooted in sacrifice, memory, and patriotism, the film aims to reconnect audiences with feelings that go beyond cinema.
