Veteran actor Anil Kapoor recently revealed that he had been approached for a special cameo in filmmaker Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film Dhurandhar: The Revenge starring Ranveer Singh in the lead. However, the actor admitted that he had to turn down the offer due to prior professional commitments.
Speaking during a session titled “The Ageless Rebel: Rewriting the Rules of Stardom” at the India Today Conclave 2026, Anil Kapoor opened up about the missed opportunity and explained why he could not take up the role.
The actor shared that Aditya Dhar had personally approached him for a small cameo in the sequel. However, Kapoor said that honoring commitments has always been an important part of his career. According to him professionalism and keeping one’s word are just as important as talent in the film industry.
He explained that when the offer came his way, he had already committed the same dates to another filmmaker. Because of that, he felt it would be wrong to cancel those plans and take up the cameo instead. Kapoor admitted that while he would have loved to be part of the project, he chose to stand by the promise he had already made.
Calling the decision “his loss” Kapoor added that he believes such situations are part of the industry. He noted that there could easily be a time when another filmmaker offers him an exciting role while he is already committed to Dhar. In such a case backing out of a commitment would be unprofessional which is something he tries to avoid.
