Actor Ananya Panday has spoken candidly about the personal lessons she learned from her past relationships admitting that she often ended up changing herself too much for the people she dated.
In a recent conversation with Harper’s Bazaar India, Ananya reflected on how her understanding of relationships has evolved over the years. She shared that earlier she struggled with being alone and always preferred having someone around whether it was a partner, family member or friend.
However, things began to change when she started living on her own. The experience helped her discover the value of personal space and encouraged her to build a stronger sense of self.
Looking back at her previous relationships, Ananya said she often prioritised the other person’s happiness over her own identity. She admitted that she would sometimes make herself “smaller” so that the other person could feel bigger.
“I’d want the other person to shine more than me. At the cost of putting myself down or making myself smaller, I’d change myself a lot and become more like the other person,” she said. Reflecting on it now, she added that she wishes she had learned earlier not to let someone else influence her sense of self so strongly.
Ananya has previously been linked to actor Ishaan Khatter. The two dated for some time before eventually parting ways. During an appearance on Koffee with Karan in 2022, Ishaan confirmed their breakup and expressed hope that they would remain friends.

Later, Ananya was also rumoured to be in a relationship with Aditya Roy Kapur for nearly two years. While neither of them publicly confirmed the relationship, photos from their vacations together frequently circulated on social media. Reports in May 2024 suggested that the two had decided to part ways though sources said they remained cordial.
More recently, Ananya has been linked to former model Walker Blanco. The two were spotted together during the wedding celebrations of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant in 2024. According to reports Ananya introduced Walker as her partner during the event though neither of them has officially confirmed the relationship.
On the work front, Ananya was last seen in the romantic film Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The film received mixed responses and did not perform strongly at the box office.
She will next appear in Chaand Mera Dil, a romantic drama co starring Lakshya Lalwani. Backed by Dharma Productions, the film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 8, 2026. In addition to that Ananya is also set to return with the second season of the streaming series Call Me Bae.
