Recently, music composer Amaal Mallik has revealed the extent of online hatred on him when he announced a new song with his co-contestant on the Bigg Boss 19 show Farrhana Bhatt. The intended fun creative initiative has since been sullied by the ugly fan fights in the social media space to the extent that Amaal now admits to the possibility of not even releasing the music video of the song.
In a long and open letter to X (previously Twitter), Amaal condemned the dirty behaviour of competing fan clubs that are related to Bigg Boss 19, stating that the hostility has made him emotionally exhausted and physically unhealthy. He mentioned that he did not sleep well in over ten days, even to the point of falling ill mid-concert and that he has been unable to concentrate on what would otherwise have been a happy moment.
Amaal clarified that he never meant to offend anyone but the constant arguing on the old scores and the drama of reality shows, such as who apologised and who did not apologise last season has been stressing him out. He encouraged the fans, particularly those who claim to be members of his own fandom to put an end to mudslinging and recall that people can agreeably disagree without making it enmity.
He also came to the defence of Farrhana and requested online critics to cease misrepresenting posts (including one in which his father tweets) to troll her and talked about the exhausting nature of receiving negative rather than supportive feedback. Although the team has worked so hard on the song, Amaal admitted that he is even considering dropping the release of the video since he cannot see the positive side of it, which he hoped this project would have.
