In a strategic and rather rare move, Ektaa Kapoor and Akshay Kumar have decided to push the release of Bhooth Bangla by a week, while simultaneously announcing paid previews for the film starting April 16, 2026, from 9 PM onwards.

The horror-comedy has already built strong buzz, thanks to its intriguing teaser and music that has struck a chord with audiences. Positioned as a family entertainer with a comic twist, Bhooth Bangla has been one of the most anticipated releases of the season.

Explaining the decision, Ektaa Kapoor shared that the shift comes after discussions with distributors and exhibitors across key markets. The idea, she said, is to ensure that the film gets the right space and attention in theatres.

“After an extensive discussion and multiple requests from our distribution partner & exhibitors across key markets, we have decided to postpone the release of Bhooth Bangla by one week. We remain committed to delivering a great cinematic experience and are confident that this decision will benefit audiences and let the film have a powerful run at the cinemas!” she said.

She also pointed out that Dhurandhar: The Revenge is currently enjoying a strong box office run, and giving it a clear window would benefit the overall industry ecosystem.

“By moving Bhooth Bangla ahead by a week, we are ensuring that both films get the theatrical space, marketing focus, and audience attention they truly deserve! We believe this approach benefits everyone — the filmmakers, the exhibitors, and most importantly, the audiences,” she added.

What makes Bhooth Bangla even more exciting is the reunion of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan — a duo known for delivering some of Bollywood’s most loved comedies over the years. Their coming together again has naturally raised expectations among fans.

Backed by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films, the film features a strong ensemble cast including Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, and Mithila Palkar.
