Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar is currently busy promoting his upcoming film Bhooth Bangla and in a recent interview he spoke openly about the ongoing trend of action films in theatres. While films like Dhurandhar: The Revenge are dominating the box office, Akshay made it clear that his film offers something very different.
Talking about Dhurandhar which stars Ranveer Singh and is directed by Aditya Dhar, Akshay praised the film and called it a “great watch.” He mentioned that the film is more suited for adult audiences mainly because of its intense action and serious tone.
However he quickly added that Bhooth Bangla is not trying to compete with that space. Instead, it is designed as a light hearted horror comedy that families and kids can enjoy together. According to him, the team never followed trends while making the film. They simply focused on whether the story felt right and entertaining.
Directed by Priyadarshan Bhooth Bangla marks his reunion with Akshay after many years. The film also stars actors like Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi. It is expected to bring back the classic comedy vibe that audiences loved in their earlier collaborations.
Priyadarshan also shared his thoughts saying that audiences enjoy variety and not just one type of cinema. He believes that while intense films like Dhurandhar are doing well, a fun and clean entertainer like Bhooth Bangla can offer a refreshing break. He also highlighted that the film avoids vulgarity making it suitable for family viewing.
