The teaser of Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh, has triggered a strong reaction on social media. While the film promises a chaotic romantic comedy, a section of the audience isn’t impressed.
The teaser shows Ayushmann’s character juggling multiple romantic interests despite being married, hinting at confusion and complications in his personal life. However, instead of finding it entertaining, many viewers have criticised the narrative for allegedly normalising infidelity and reinforcing dated stereotypes about relationships.
Social media users didn’t hold back. One wrote, “Bollywood needs to stop turning seriously problematic issues into ‘comedy.’ Whether it’s cheating… or toxic relationships, everything is packaged as humorous.” Another commented, “Not only is this normalising adultery, It is spreading negative gender stereotypes as well.”
The dialogue around “patiyon ki fitrat” particularly drew criticism, with users questioning why such themes are still being presented as humorous. “What’s up with Bollywood’s obsession with humorizing cheating?” read one comment, while another added, “Can we move on from these… obsession with multiple affairs.”
That said, a few viewers offered a different perspective, suggesting the teaser might be taken out of context and could have more depth when the full film releases.
Presented by T-Series, the film is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit Pati Patni Aur Woh. Directed by Mudassar Aziz, the romantic comedy is set to release on May 15, 2026.
With mixed reactions pouring in, the film has already sparked conversation—whether it converts controversy into box office success remains to be seen.
