A fresh controversy has erupted around Bollywood star Varun Dhawan after a social media influencer accused him of allegedly promoting fabricated praise for the first look of his upcoming film, Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai. The claims, made through a viral Instagram video, have triggered intense reactions across platforms, with fans divided over the allegations.
The influencer, who has a significant online following, questioned the authenticity of the overwhelmingly positive reactions that flooded the internet soon after the first look was unveiled. In the video, the creator suggested that the comments and reviews appeared “too uniform” and “scripted,” hinting at the possibility of a coordinated promotional strategy. The remark, loosely translated from Hindi, implied disbelief that things had reached a point where such tactics might be used to generate buzz.
The accusations quickly gained traction, with netizens engaging in heated discussions. While some users echoed the influencer’s skepticism, pointing out similarities in language and tone across multiple posts, others came to Varun’s defense, arguing that such claims were baseless and unfair without concrete evidence.
Industry insiders have often spoken about aggressive digital marketing strategies being used to boost visibility, especially during early promotions. However, orchestrating fake reviews is a serious allegation that can affect an actor’s credibility if proven true. So far, neither Varun Dhawan nor his team has issued an official response to the controversy.
Interestingly, the film itself has been generating curiosity for its title and concept, with fans eager to see what Varun brings to the table this time. Despite the ongoing debate, the first look continues to circulate widely, drawing both praise and criticism.
This incident once again highlights the growing influence of social media in shaping public perception. With influencers playing a key role in driving conversations, even unverified claims can quickly snowball into major controversies.
For Varun Dhawan, who enjoys a strong fan base and a successful track record in the industry, the situation presents a challenge in maintaining his image amidst online scrutiny. Whether the allegations hold any truth or fade away as another internet storm remains to be seen.
