A new advertisement featuring Ranveer Singh and his father-in-law, badminton legend Prakash Padukone, has taken the internet by storm. While the ad promotes RuPay’s payment features, fans were quick to notice a hidden detail that sparked widespread speculation.
In the ad, Ranveer explains how the app works seamlessly everywhere as the duo is seen outside a cinema hall buying tickets and snacks. However, what caught everyone’s attention was a poster in the background featuring Ranveer with the title “Bhavandar.” Many viewers linked this to Dhruv Rathee, who had earlier criticised Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge in his videos, referring to a fictional film called “Operation Bhavandar.”
Fans flooded social media with reactions, calling the moment a clever and subtle dig. Comments ranged from calling it a “meta joke” to praising Ranveer for “roasting without saying a word.” The unexpected reference has since become a trending talking point online.
Earlier, Dhruv Rathee had criticised Dhurandhar, calling it “well-made propaganda” and arguing that its use of real-life elements made it more impactful. His remarks had sparked debate among viewers and fans of the film.
Meanwhile, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, continues to dominate the box office, earning over ₹1,700 crore globally. The film stars actors like R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sanjay Dutt. Ranveer will next be seen in Pralay, directed by Jai Mehta, further adding to his busy slate.
