Dhruv Rathee has started a debate again by calling Dhurandhar 2 “not even well made propaganda.” The YouTuber repeated his previous claims about Aditya Dhar the filmmaker, and stated that movie viewers now know who he is: “a BJP propagandist.”

The movie has just come out in cinemas and is pulling large audiences to shows; it’s on track to be a record breaker at the box office as well. However, some reviews for Dhurandhar 2 are more positive than others. While many people enjoyed the large spectacle of the film and commented on the performances of the cast members, others said it didn’t seem like it was a true sequel and that the film doesn’t create the same kind of impact that the first one did.

However, Rathee continues to show his discontent with the movie by making strong public statements about it. According to Rathee, he had expressed concerns from the first movie to begin with and the sequel only affirms his original stance, but he believes that not only is the messaging much more blatant, but furthermore that the filmmakers failed to create a quality enough technical product that would allow audiences to believe the film’s message.

Rathee has called out the franchise multiple times before now as well. Back in 2025, when the first movie came out he tweeted out his disappointment in the film for its socio-political message resulting in conversations across social media. His most recent commentary has ignited another torrent of comments from users both challenging Rathee’s statements and discussing the intent of the movie’s creators; nevertheless, the ongoing controversy hasn’t hurt how well Dhurandhar 2 is doing at the box office, indicating that many people want to see what this film has to offer.
