The madness is officially back as Rohit Shetty has kickstarted the shoot of Golmaal 5 in Mumbai earlier than planned. While the film was initially expected to go on floors in March, cameras began rolling on February 23, 2026, marking the beginning of what is being touted as the biggest instalment of the franchise so far.

According to industry sources, the fifth chapter of the Golmaal series is mounted on a massive scale, with speculation that it could become the most expensive film in the franchise’s history. Rohit Shetty, known for his high-energy entertainers, is reportedly planning a grand comic spectacle packed with action, chaos and signature Golmaal humour.

In a major casting update, Priyamani has joined the ensemble, replacing Kareena Kapoor Khan, who will not be part of this instalment. Priyamani, who has earned nationwide recognition for her performances across industries including The Family Man, is expected to bring a fresh dynamic to the franchise. Details about her character have been kept under wraps for now.

Adding to the excitement, Akshay Kumar is set to share screen space with Ajay Devgn in what insiders describe as a high-energy comic showdown. This marks a significant twist in the franchise, promising a face-off that fans are already buzzing about.

The familiar Golmaal gang is also expected to return, including Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Kemmu and Shreyas Talpade. With filming underway and the cast lineup generating strong curiosity, Golmaal 5 is already shaping up to be one of the most awaited commercial entertainers of the coming year.
