National Award-winning filmmaker Prasanth Varma, who delivered the pan-Indian blockbuster HanuMan, has officially launched its much-awaited sequel Jai Hanuman, marking the next chapter in the expanding Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe. The film is being mounted on a massive scale by Mythri Movie Makers and is presented by T-Series.
National Award-winner Rishab Shetty headlines the project, stepping into the revered role of Lord Hanuman. His casting has significantly amplified expectations, especially after the nationwide acclaim of Kantara Chapter 1. The makers have promised a powerful, immersive, and transformative portrayal of the deity.
The film was officially launched in a traditional and majestic ceremony at Anjanadri Betta, believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. The auspicious event saw Bhushan Kumar sounding the clapboard, while Anil Thadani rolled the camera for the inaugural shot, which was directed by HanuMan star Teja Sajja. In a symbolic gesture, Anil Thadani, Bhushan Kumar, Naveen Yerneni, and Y Ravi Shankar handed over the script to Prasanth Varma.
Earlier, the team unveiled a striking first-look poster featuring Rishab Shetty as Lord Hanuman, capturing the character’s divinity and raw strength. The actor is undergoing an intense physical transformation to authentically embody the role.
Designed as a high-octane mythological action epic set in Kaliyug, Jai Hanuman explores the idea that Hanuman’s silence signifies purpose rather than surrender, concealing a power destined to rise. The film celebrates unwavering devotion, loyalty, and timeless strength, positioning itself as a tribute to an immortal spirit.
Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y Ravi Shankar, the film is mounted on a massive budget with top-tier technical standards. The technical crew includes Oscar-winning composer M. M. Keeravani, cinematographer S Thirunavukkarasu, and production designer Srinagendhra Thangala. With pre-production already underway, the regular shoot is set to begin soon, promising a cinematic spectacle rooted in mythology and scale.
