Social media gossip has also been stored about actor Parineeti Chopra recently, which badminton champion Saina Nehwal has taken to bat in the case, after fans spotted that the actress was no longer following her on Instagram. The talk rekindled the curiosity in their relationship in 2021, when Parineeti played the Olympic winner in the sports biopic, Saina.

Talking about the situation, Saina denied the buzz and explained that they were involved in professional relationship not in personal relationships. She confessed that she knew about the unfollow much later and did not attach much significance to it. In her opinion, film projects usually gather people together but after that, they find themselves drifting to the next thing and group as normal. She alluded that after the movie was completed, Parineeti must have turned her attention elsewhere and this might have led to the alteration of the social media.

Saina also highlighted the point that the two did not have time to form a close friendship. Although Parineeti spent long hours practicing badminton with her to fit the role, strokes, footwork and on court movements, they hardly spent time together, other than professional meetings related to the movie. She observed that real friendships entail an element of long term interaction, which they did not have in production. Nevertheless, Saina complimented the earnestness and effort of Parineeti and remembered the extent to which the actor had been devoted to recreating her playing style and personality on screen.

Interestingly, she when questioned on the choice she would make in case her biopic was ever revisited named Shraddha Kapoor. Shraddha was initially cast in the movie and she had been undergoing thorough training before quitting on the same grounds of illness. Saina gave a testimonial of how she continues to keep in touch with her and how she was warm and true to her, a factor that shaped her decision.On the whole, Saina emphasized that the absence of a fallout and misunderstanding between her and Parineeti was nonexistent, and people should not put too much in terms of social media engagement. The collaboration, in her case, is a professional stage characterized by equal respect and hard work and not intimacy.
