Maha Shivratri 2026: Raveena Tandon Reveals How Her Kids’ Names Are Inspired by Lord Shiva

On Maha Shivratri, Raveena Tandon opens up about her deep devotion to Mahadev, the spiritual meaning behind her children Rasha…

On the occasion of Maha Shivratri 2026, Bollywood actor Raveena Tandon opened up about her deep faith in Lord Shiva and how that belief has shaped her personal and family life. From naming her children to completing the sacred 12 Jyotirlinga pilgrimage, spirituality plays a huge role in her journey.

Raveena, who proudly calls herself a Shiv bhakt, shared that Lord Shiva is not just a deity for her but a universal and loving force. She believes that Shiva is “all-loving and all-forgiving” and does not impose strict rules on his devotees. According to her, this freedom and acceptance is what makes her connection with Mahadev so special.

She also spoke about how her love for animals is connected to her faith. Shiva is known as Pashupatinath, the protector of animals. Raveena mentioned how Nandi, the bull, is always seen with Shiva, and how even in the form of Kaal Bhairav, he is surrounded by dogs. She even referred to the ancient Indus Valley seal that shows a yogic figure surrounded by animals, believed by many to be Pashupatinath. For her, this shows that love for nature and animals has always been a part of Shiva’s identity.

One of the most touching parts of her conversation was about her children’s names Rasha Thadani and Ranbir Thadani. Raveena revealed that both their names are inspired by Lord Shiva. Rasha’s actual name in her kundli is Vishakha, and Ranbir’s name includes “Vardhan,” which she connects to Mahadev. For her, these are signs of Shiva’s blessings and presence in her life, especially during tough times.

Maha Shivratri is always special in Raveena’s home. Every year, she performs Rudra Abhishek. She often celebrates the festival in Kashi and has visited Kashi Vishwanath Temple multiple times. This year, she plans to celebrate at the Isha Foundation with Sadhguru, where the night is filled with music, dance, and devotion.

Another emotional part of her spiritual journey is completing the 12 Jyotirlingas pilgrimage. She began this journey in 2023 at Kashi Vishwanath on her late father Ravi Tandon’s birthday. After losing him in 2022, she carried a part of his ashes to immerse in the Ganga. Within a year, by Maha Shivratri 2024, she and Rasha had completed all 12 Jyotirlingas. She described it as a promise she fulfilled for her father and something very close to her heart.

Raveena Tandon’s story shows how faith can give strength, peace, and direction in life. On Maha Shivratri, her words remind us that devotion is not just about rituals but about love, gratitude, and family bonds.
