In a box office milestone that’s rewriting Indian film history, Dhurandhar has now become the longest-trending Indian movie ever, surpassing major hits like Chhaava, Pushpa 2: The Rule and Jawan with a record-breaking run on ticketing platforms and in theatres alike.
Ranveer Singh’s action-spy thriller Dhurandhar has achieved unparalleled momentum, maintaining its momentum far longer than any recent Indian release. The film, which hit screens on 5 December 2025, is now officially the longest-trending Indian film ever on platforms like BookMyShow — surpassing the long-standing record previously held by Chhaava. Its sustained popularity has kept it in theatres far beyond the usual run for most Bollywood blockbusters, becoming a cultural phenomenon while drawing crowds across the country.
Industry trackers report that Dhurandhar has consistently maintained high ticket sales, with millions of admissions logged well into its weeks after release. This continuous interest has outpaced not only Chhaava but also massive hits such as Jawan and Pushpa 2, both of which are among the most successful Indian films in recent memory.
Analysts say this trend reflects the film’s broad appeal and strong word-of-mouth, which has kept it trending long after many competitors have tapered off. Box office data further underscores this unprecedented run. In domestic circuits, Dhurandhar crossed major box office milestones rapidly and sustained strong revenues in subsequent weeks.
It became the highest-earning Hindi film of all time in India, overtaking Pushpa 2: The Rule’s lifetime net collections and setting new benchmarks for adult-rated films. Critics and audiences alike attribute the film’s momentum to its gripping narrative, highly praised performances — especially by Ranveer Singh — and its blend of action, drama and topical themes, which have kept viewers returning to theatres and streaming platforms.
The film has also sparked a wide range of fan creativity and online engagement, further fueling discussions and social media buzz around the project. While Dhurandhar continues to trend, industry insiders anticipate even more records could fall, especially with the upcoming sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge set for release in March 2026. For now, Dhurandhar stands not only as a box office powerhouse but as a defining cinematic success of its time.
