Ranbir Kapoor recently opened up about fatherhood and shared how he wants to raise his daughter, Raha, in a different way than how he was raised. The actor, who was announced as the new brand ambassador for PNG Jewellers, spoke about his childhood, the Kapoor legacy, and his deep love for his daughter.

Talking about his bond with his late father Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir said that their relationship had a certain distance. He explained that in their generation, fathers were not always very expressive or friendly with their children. Ranbir described it as a “glass wall” between them. While he respects his father and everything he learned from him, he admitted that their bond was not like a friendship.

Now, as a father himself, Ranbir wants things to be different. He said he wants to break that “glass wall” with Raha. He shared that he wants to be her friend and give her the freedom to choose her own path in life. According to him, it is important to let children fly in whichever direction they want, instead of putting pressure on them.

Ranbir also spoke about carrying forward the Kapoor family legacy. He said that coming from a family of achievers does not mean the next generation can succeed only because of their surname. He believes that every individual must bring something new to the table. If someone simply copies what their forefathers did, there will eventually be a saturation point. He feels that true success comes from having your own thought process while still respecting the emotions and legacy of your family.

Recently, Alia Bhatt also spoke about Ranbir’s love for Raha. She revealed that after finishing his shoots, Ranbir rushes home and goes straight to Raha’s room to spend time with her. Although Ranbir is known to be shy, Alia said he openly shows his love for his daughter and enjoys every moment with her.

Ranbir and Alia started dating during the filming of Brahmastra and got married in 2022. The same year, in November, they welcomed their daughter Raha. When Raha turned one, the couple revealed her face to the public, which left fans emotional and happy. However, they have now requested the paparazzi not to click her pictures to protect her privacy. Alia sometimes shares sweet moments with Raha on social media but keeps her face hidden.

On the work front, Ranbir Kapoor is preparing for the release of his upcoming film Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. In the film, Ranbir will play Lord Rama. Sai Pallavi will be seen as Sita, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, and Yash as Ravana. The film is set to release in cinemas on Diwali 2026.

Through his words, Ranbir has shown that while he is proud of his family’s legacy, his biggest priority today is being a loving and supportive father to Raha.
