This was some exciting news to the fans of the forthcoming horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla starring Akshay Kumar. Since the film has changed its release date a few times, the creators have now changed its date of theatrical release earlier on April 10, 2026. This shifts the premiere date, which was originally scheduled as May 15, to give the moviegoers an opportunity to watch the film earlier than expected.
The director of the movie, who is also a veteran director Priyadarshan, is another movie that saw them reunite, and it is a comeback of the two as they have produced movie hits that enjoy the popularity of the audience over the years. Together with Akshay, the cast is also a colourful group comprising of Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and others, and is bound to offer a lot of laughs with a touch of the spooky.
Akshay himself also affirmed the new release date through a social media video he made jokingly. In the video, a black cat erases the initial May 15 date on the calendar and exposes April 10 with the message: Bhooth Bangla ka countdown rewind! 15 May shola 10 April chala milte hain theatres mein.
As the manufacturers of the film say, this was a strategic move on their part – to gain a better theatrical release period and avert excessive box-office rivalry in the later season. Akshay already has quite a number of major projects scheduled in 2026, and so promoting Bhooth Bangla would provide it with a better opportunity to communicate with the audience.
As a blend of horror, comedy and a stellar cast, Bhooth Bangla is developing into one of the most eagerly awaited movies of the season and soon the movie would not have to stay that long before making it on the big screen.
