YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav recently sent the internet into a frenzy after sharing a cryptic Instagram post with actor Jiyaa Shankar. The post made many fans believe that the two were engaged. However, social media users have now decoded the real story behind the viral picture.
Elvish shared a photo on Instagram where he is seen holding Jiyaa Shankar’s hand, while a big diamond ring is clearly visible on her finger. Adding fuel to the rumours, he used a romantic song in the background and wrote, “Gave love another chance and I found my ❤️” while tagging Jiyaa. Soon after, the post went viral with fans congratulating the duo and speculating about their engagement.
The buzz took a new turn when a Reddit user shared the picture and asked fans to explain what was really going on. Many fans quickly pointed out that the post was not about a real engagement. According to them, Elvish Yadav and Jiyaa Shankar are likely coming together as hosts for the second season of the dating reality show Engaged.
Fans claimed that the picture was a promotional post for Engaged: Roka Ya Dhokha Season 2, which is reportedly set to stream on JioHotstar. However, an official announcement from the makers is still awaited.
The first season of Engaged was hosted by Uorfi Javed and comedian Harsh Gujral. The dating reality show focuses on couples who go through fun, flirty tasks, dramatic twists, and wildcard entries before deciding whether to get engaged or walk away.
The show premiered in 2025 and has now been renewed for a second season, which is said to release on February 14, making it a Valentine’s Day special.
Elvish and Jiya first met during Bigg Boss OTT 2. Jiyaa was part of the show from the start, while Elvish entered as a wildcard contestant. During their time inside the house, they grabbed headlines for a major fight when Jiyaa mixed hand wash into Elvish’s glass of water during a task.
Recently, Jiyaa was also rumoured to be engaged to Abhishek Malhan, but she quickly shut down the gossip by posting a picture with a mystery man.
On the work front Elvish Yadav is currently seen in Laughter Chefs Season 3.
