Actors Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi recently opened up about a very personal phase of their life. The couple, who have been married for over three decades, spoke honestly about their journey into parenthood in a vlog from their YouTube series, where they talk about marriage, family and life after years together.
During the conversation, Archana shared that her first pregnancy was unplanned and emotionally difficult. She revealed that Parmeet was not very supportive at the time, which often made her feel alone and weak. Archana recalled an incident where Parmeet went out to play football even when she was unwell during her pregnancy. She said she now understands that his behaviour came from a lack of awareness rather than bad intentions.
Parmeet Sethi admitted that he did not want children initially and failed to understand how much responsibility comes with being a parent. He confessed that he was mostly absent during the first two to three years of their son Aaryamann’s life because of work commitments. Calling himself a “bad and absent father,” Parmeet said he only truly realised his role when Archana became pregnant for the second time. That’s when he decided to spend more time with Aaryamann and be more involved as a father.
Archana also spoke about the physical and emotional struggles she faced after childbirth. She said she was very weak and had to rely on her mother while taking care of the baby. Archana shared that she used to wake up several times at night to feed and check on her child, often wondering why Parmeet was not sharing the responsibility. She added that many people fail to understand what a woman goes through after giving birth.
Parmeet further admitted that he hardly helped during Aaryamann’s early years and said he only changed diapers a few times. He also spoke about how Archana struggled to balance motherhood and being a wife, especially when she was exhausted but still expected to manage everything at home.
Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi got married in 1992 and kept their marriage private for years. They welcomed their first son, Aaryamann, in 1994, and their younger son, Ayushmann, three years later. Today, apart from acting, the couple runs a popular YouTube channel where they share food, travel and family moments with their audience.
