Speaking about her return Rhea said that acting was her dream when she moved to Mumbai at the age of 17. However, after everything that happened in her life she was forced to give up that dream. She shared that not getting work made her believe that acting was no longer part of her future. Returning after so many years she said, feels strange, emotional and special at the same time.

In her caption, Rhea wrote that even though a part of her moved on, another part stayed back and waited. She called this phase “chapter 2” of her life and quoted “Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”

Rhea began her career as a VJ and made her acting debut with the Telugu film Tuneega Tuneega. She later appeared in Bollywood films like Mere Dad Ki Maruti, Sonali Cable, Bank Chor, Half Girlfriend and Jalebi. Her last film release was Chehre in 2019.

In 2020, Rhea faced a difficult time after being taken into custody by the NCB in connection with the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Though she was later released on bail, she revealed that she stopped getting work due to rumours and false beliefs. In 2023, she made a comeback to the entertainment world as a gang leader on MTV Roadies: Karm Ya Kaand and even won the season.
